Lessons and Carols

More than 200 attended Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Hope's prayerful and joyful first Festival of Lesson's and Carols on December 20, 2023. It was a beautiful evening as we celebrated the anticipation of Our Lord’s incarnation. Attendees had the opportunity to hear Our Lady of Hope students sing the The Festival of Lessons and Carols, a beautiful and festive tradition that began in the 19th century. Through scripture readings (or “lessons”), hymns, carols, and prayers, the Festival tells the story of the Fall, the Messianic promise, the Incarnation, and the Great Commission.
