Happy Easter, Christ is risen!
We hope this email finds you well. Thank you to everyone who joined us in the 54 day Rosary novena and welcome to anyone who is hearing about Chesterton Academy for the first time. We are pleased to announce that Bishop Thomas J. Tobin has granted us the opportunity to explore opening a new Catholic High School in the Diocese of Providence (RI) which is projected to open in the fall of 2023. While this will be a new high school, development is well underway, and it builds on the growing enthusiasm surrounding the Chesterton Academy experience. This opportunity for a Christ-centered classical education continues to gather attention across the US and beyond. The first Chesterton Academy was founded in 2008. Since then, the network has grown to over 30 schools, with several more planning to open soon. Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Hope in RI will be one of those schools.
CLASSICAL EDUCATION IN THE CATHOLIC TRADITION: WHAT AND WHY?
Truth. Goodness. Beauty. A classical education in the Catholic tradition seeks to integrate these transcendental values in every aspect of the curriculum, so as to enlighten and shape the whole person, who is made in the image of God. The study of theology provides a firm intellectual foundation in the supernatural teachings of the Catholic Faith. Deep readings in history, philosophy, and literature offer opportunities to imbibe the wisdom of western civilization and wrestle with the perennial mysteries of existence. An integrated approach to the sciences reveals the order and wonder of the universe, while fidelity to the visual and performing arts honors man's creative vocation. Such is our guiding vision: a model of education rooted in conversation and contemplation, committed to excellence of mind and soul alike, and aimed at producing virtuous and mature citizens. Additionally, the Chesterton model offers all of this for a tuition that is much less than most Catholic High Schools.
We held an interest meeting on March 3rd and continue to receive inquiries regarding the school. Therefore, we are providing the following link to our FAQ page to help answer some of these questions: Frequently Asked Questions.
