PRESS RELEASE

NEW CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL IN RI

PROVIDENCE — Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Hope has been approved as a new Catholic high school in the Diocese of Providence.

On November 21, the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Bishop Thomas J. Tobin signed a canonical decree approving the creation of Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Hope as a Catholic high school to open in the Diocese of Providence. The school is currently accepting applications for students to begin next fall. It is centrally located just 5 minutes off of Route 95 in Warwick.

“We are overjoyed to receive this approval from our Bishop,” said Michael Casey, President of the Board of Directors of Chesterton. “Under the mantle of Our Lady it is our hope to build a vibrant Catholic culture within our school community by educating our students in the timeless truths of Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church.”

There are currently forty-four Chesterton Academies across the country with this being the first one in New England. The model of Chesterton Academy is to offer families an affordable, classical, and authentically Catholic education. Each school day begins with daily Mass.

Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Hope is established as an independent Catholic high school and governed by a board of directors.

The school is actively pursuing candidates for the Headmaster position and will begin hiring teachers in early 2023.

The school is hosting an open house for all interested parties on DECEMBER 10, 12-3PM at its new location of 487 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick, RI.
